ABOUT THE TEACHER
YASUE MIYAZAKI
Wagashi Master & Certified Tea Ceremony Instructor
Yasue Miyazaki is a former professional wagashi artisan with over 20 years of experience in traditional Japanese confectionery. She trained and worked as a wagashi craftsman after graduating from the Food Science and Nutrition program at Kinki University's Faculty of Agriculture.
In 2008, she founded Wagashi Issho, a specialized Japanese confectionery school in Kyoto, where she teaches traditional wagashi-making techniques. Miyazaki-sensei is also an instructor at the Kyoto branch of the NHK Culture Center, where she shares her expertise with students of all levels.
With more than two decades of experience in the Urasenke Tea Ceremony tradition, she holds the prestigious title of Associate Professor (Jun-Kyoju). Her deep knowledge of tea culture and confectionery allows her to provide an authentic and enriching learning experience.
